AC/DC Got Forced Offstage For More Than Half An Hour At Their NZ Concert

The Wellington leg of AC/DC‘s Rock Or Bust world tour has been less rock and more bust.

At least, to begin with.

The Aussie rock legends took to the stage at Westpac Stadium on Saturday night and were two songs deep into their set when they were (thunder)struck by technical issues.

The band were forced to evacuate the stage for more than 30 minutes while the problems were fixed, leaving 30,000 Kiwi punters waiting in wet and windy conditions.

Newstalk ZB‘s Adam Cooper told The NZ Herald: “It was about 40 minutes of no one on the stage, no band on the stage, before they eventually returned”.

Some fans naturally vented their frustrations on social media:

Local promoter Sandra Roberts told The Herald that the wild weather was very likely to blame for an electrical fault that affected the sound quality.

“There’s high wind driving rain into the stadium so a bit of water has got into some of the electrical equipment,” she said.

However, Acca Dacca apparently made up for it once they returned to the stage.

The Aussie rockers finished the show to rave reviews, much like they did here in Australia.
