After revealing themselves to the world back in April, Plastic World have announced their first release, Alba’s 12” record, Knokke / Law available to be consumed by the masses as of next week.
The A-side component of the release features both singles with the B-side populated by remixes of lead single Knokke by the likes of Jimmy Edgar and Rick Wade. The original singles are an appropriate introduction to the Sydney duo, showcasing their soft spot for 909 hats and kick, dark soundscapes, killer vocals and infectious melodies.
Alba (formerly Albatross) have spent much of the past year studying under the best, scoring highly coveted support slots for Four Tet, Mount Kimbie and Gold Panda, and now they will be looking to supply the original material their swelling fan base is drooling at the mouth for. Straight off the bat, team Plastic World are living up to the forward-thinking, left-of-centre reputation that preceded them, suggesting we will be seeing some exciting things happening in the near future.
