Animals As Leaders have announced a headlining Australian tour, taking them across the country in September of 2025. The tour will see the American djent trio performing their 2014 album The Joy Of Motion in its entirety to belatedly celebrate its 10-year anniversary. Joining the band as support on all shows will be American mathcore band Car Bomb, who will be performing in Australia for the very first time in their 25-year career. The two bands had previously toured together back in 2019 through Europe, alongside Periphery. Their latest release, a live album titled Live In Santa Cruz, was released in 2023.
Animals As Leaders – ‘Physical Education’
The Joy Of Motion was originally released in March of 2014. It remains the band’s most commercially successful studio album, having sold over 50,000 copies in their native US and debuting at number 23 on the Billboard 200 albums chart – outperforming artists such as Eminem and Katy Perry in doing so. Furthermore, the album peaked at number two on Billboard’s Hard Rock chart and number four on Billboard’s Rock chart.
Animals As Leaders were last in Australia in April of 2023, touring in support of their fifth studio album Parrhesia. The trio had also previously toured the country in 2012 (supporting Between The Buried And Me), in 2014 (in support of Periphery, as well as touring The Joy Of Motion the first time around), in 2015 as part of the final Soundwave Festival and in 2017.

A pre-sale for the tour will run from 9am local time on Tuesday, April 15th. General sale will then follow on Thursday, April 17th – again at 9am local time. Both can be accessed via the tour’s official promoter, Destroy All Lines.
