Ariel Pink is packing his bags, and his seven-piece band, and making his way to Australia in January 2015. Kicking things off as part of Sugar Mountain Festival in Melbourne, Ariel Pink, real name Ariel Rosenberg, will also be playing a handful of sideshows behind his latest album Pom Pom, due out in Australia next month.
In addition to his Sugar Mountain spot, Pink will play sideshows in Brisbane, Sydney and Perth. Helping out on Ariel Pink’s headlining shows in Sydney and Perth is Nick Allbrook from WA psych rock band Pond. Support acts and ticket details for Pink’s performance at The Brightside in Brisbane on Sunday, 25th January 2015 are still to be announced.
Ariel Pink’s latest offering, Pom Pom, clocks in at 69 minutes and spans across 17 songs. The LP sees Rosenberg step away from his Haunted Graffiti band mates to release Pom Pom under his solo persona. Although the album may be the first to be credited solely to Ariel Pink, Rosenberg says it is “by far the least ‘solo’ record I have ever recorded.”
Tickets for Sugar Mountain Festival 2015 and Ariel Pink’s Sydney and Perth headlining shows are on sale. Tickets for the Brisbane performance are TBA. Pom Pom by Aerial Pink comes out Friday, 14th November via Remote Control. Full tour details below.
