Atreyu Eyeing To Release Another New Album In 2017

Since officially reuniting after a number of years on hiatus, Atreyu are proving difficult to hold down. At the end of last year, the band released Long Live, their first album since reforming and already it seems they’re eyeing off a follow up as soon as next year.

Speaking to Music Feeds, vocalist Alex Varkatzas expressed a deep gratitude for the warm response from fans to their return. It wasn’t long after they announced the reunion that Long Live was given a street date. When asked what was next for the band, Varkatzas revealed it’s straight back to the studio at the start of next year:

“You never know what tomorrow will bring but the tentative plan is January, February, March, -‘question-mark-timeframe’ – we start working on a new record and then I would say fall of 2017 maybe a new record will come out. Question mark?.”

Not wanting to jinx the record already, Varkatzas left plenty of wiggle room for the plans but the band seem hellbent on making it a reality.

“We’re going for it, baby. This is some of the closest we’ve put out a record together. We’ve gone from our biggest gap to like a two-year period. We’re gonna do our damnedest.”

Atreyu will be returning to Australia off the back of Soundwave 2015 in support of their long time partners in crime Bullet For My Valentine.

Stay tuned for the full interview with Alex Varkatzas, up soon.
