Augie March Name Support Acts For Hometown Shows

Melbourne rockers Augie March have announced the five artists who will open for the band on their string of five hometown reunion shows, set to take place at Melbourne’s Howler this October and November.

Playing alongside Augie March on the first sold out show will be fellow Melbourne artist Oliver Mann. On the second night, also sold out, the band will be joined by Jess Cornelius’ Teeth & Tongue, followed by The Panics‘ frontman Jae Laffer for night three.

On the final two nights, for which limited tickets are still available, Augie March will be joined by singer/songwriter Jen Cloher and they’ll finish up the shows with help from Fraser A. Gorman.

To the delight of the Australian music scene, Augie March have returned, having been “on hiatus” since 2009, when frontman Glenn Richards moved from Melbourne to Hobart. They’ve since released their much anticipated album Havens Dumb, which has garnered fantastic reviews across the board.

“It’s a real mixed bag, the record, so we veer around a lot on it stylistically. Just rehearsing it has been interesting and fun and challenging,” drummer David Williams told Music Feeds earlier this year. “So getting to execute it live, together, is definitely something I’m looking forward to, and also seeing as it’s quite a challenge to do right.”
