The release date for Rescue & Restore might only be next week but that hasn’t stopped August Burns Red from revealing more of what’s in store for fans. After another successful 24-hour tease, the band have dropped their latest single, Provisions, which you can listen to below.
Much like the previous track boosted off the album, Fault Line, Provisions sees the Philly natives continue to carry the metalcore torch as they provide a much needed shot in the arm to a genre that’s seen better days. Don’t be fooled, however, as the band have promised that their fifth instalment will be pushing the boundaries even further, something we’ve come to expect from the scene darlings with each new release.
The group’s lead guitarist and chief songwriter, JB Brubaker, has gone as far as to label Rescue & Restore as the band’s, “most ambitious album yet,” explaining that the whole idea behind the release, “is about challenging other bands and ourselves, as well as fans of this music, to want more than whatever happens to be the current buzz.”
Should fans be somewhat concerned that the band may have meddled with their sound too much, JB statement should calm those nerves, as he reassures fans that there will be, “plenty of really heavy stuff, techy odd meter riffs, and all the stuff that people have come to expect from us; it just has a lot more surprises along the way.”
