Aussie Rock Supergroup Feat. Grinspoon, The Living End & Spiderbait Members Announce Easybeats Tribute Tour

A new Aussie rock supergroup featuring members of Grinspoon, The Living End, Spiderbait, You Am I and more have announced an east coast tour in tribute to Sydney rockers The Easybeats and their late frontman Stevie Wright.

Grinspoon frontman Phil Jamieson and The Living End’s Chris Cheney will be joined by Kram from Spiderbait, Tim Rogers from You Am I and fellow rocker Tex Perkins for the tour, which will also feature a backing band of musos who have played with the likes of The Whitlams, Baby Animals and Divinyls.

The all-star band will perform songs from The Easybeats’ influential catalogue in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Thirroul this December on the ‘Easyfever Tour’, celebrating the ARIA Hall Of Fame-rs and their hits like ‘Friday On My Mind’, ‘Sorry’, ‘She’s So Fine’ and ‘Wedding Ring’.

“I adore The Easybeats,” says Phil Jamieson.

“The tunes, the look, the sound. It gets me. I’m equal parts nervous, excited and daunted by taking on these huge songs live. It is going to be one hell of a show.”

“The Australian rock’n’roll landscape would look very different without the contribution of the Easybeats,” says Chris Cheney.

“The energy and electricity of those old black and white TV performances have always been a source of Inspiration to me. I get goosebumps thinking about it.

“They are one of the most influential Aussie bands ever and rightly bloody so. The combined musical brilliance of that band and the songwriting skills means their tunes are absolutely timeless.”
