Australia’s Got A New Mountain Music Festival & Its Lineup So Far Is ‘Off The Rails’

Australia’s just inherited a new music festival with a view. Dubbed ‘Off The Rails’, the debut event is promising to dish up an ace local lineup, set against the jaw-dropping backdrop of the NSW Blue Mountains.

Only three acts have been announced so far on the inaugural bill, but they’re plenty worthy of excitement: hip hop heroes Thundamentals, beloved MC Urthboy and ensemble Jack Ladder & The Dreamlanders.

‘Mentals MC Poncho told triple j he’s super-keen to be repping on home turf.

“Mountains shows are always loose,” he promised. “I’m looking forward to that atmosphere. Shows are always more fun when the crowd is rowdy as.”

While Urthboy called the Blue Mountains “one of the most important places on Earth”.

Descending upon the iconic Scenic World facility in Katoomba on Saturday, 27th February 2016, Off The Rails pairs local music against the postcard-worthy landscape of the nearby Three Sisters and Jamison Valley.

The open-air summer festival also coincides with Scenic World’s 70th Anniversary, and the tourist attraction’s Head of Marketing and Events, Amanda Byrne has called it the perfect way to celebrate “everything that’s great about living in the Blue Mountains – our connected community, talented creatives, epic landscapes, good times and an outdoor lifestyle. That’s why the festival is dominated by home-grown exceptional talent”.

More artists will be revealed on the festival’s inaugural bill soon, but limited tickets are available now for punters who want to get in early.
