Avicii’s Family Have Launched A Mental Health Foundation

CONTENT WARNING: The following article discusses suicide.

The family of late producer Avicii has announced that they’ll be launching a new mental health foundation in honour of the legendary DJ, called the Tim Bergling Foundation.

According to Rolling Stone, the foundation will raise money for a whole bunch of causes relating to mental health, like suicide prevention. They will also aim to contribute to causes like climate change, endangered species and environmental conservation both in Sweden, Avicii’s home country, and internationally.

Avicii, real name Tim Bergling, sadly passed away last year from an apparent suicide. His death completely rocked the music world, and his family spoke of his mental health struggles.

“He really struggled with thoughts about meaning, life, happiness,” they said.

“He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace.”
