The Japanese trio have turned heads since they pretty much invented a new genre of music; meshing together J-Pop singing with full-on metal instrumental – in a way that just works… somehow.
Now the band have announced that as part of their show at the Alternative Press Music Awards, they’ll be joined on stage by Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford. Presumably the legendary British singer won’t be singing anything in Japanese, but with a combination this strange – literally anything could happen.
Fans of both Judas Priest and Babymetal were understandably excited to hear the news, while others weren’t quite sure how to react.

Babymetal are nominated for the Best International Band award, and confirmed today that to celebrate, they’d be joined by Halford live on stage.

It’s not the first time that the Japanese sensations have met Halford either, with the band grabbing a selfie with him at Rock on the Rage festival last year.
