Bachelor Girl To Play 25th Anniversary ‘Waiting For The Day’ Shows In Mid-2025

Bachelor Girl have announced a run of shows where they will belatedly celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut album, 1998’s Waiting For The Day. The Melbourne pop duo will perform the album in its entirety at each of the shows. The full list of dates and ticketing can be found below.

The band have stated they will be performing the songs with new arrangements, as part of a “redux” project where they intend to rework the album “in a way you’ve never heard before”. “We are so incredibly thankful to still be here, sharing our music with all of you, and to know that Waiting for the Day has meant so much to so many of you,” said the band’s lead vocalist Tania Doko.

“You’ve supported us with unwavering enthusiasm, and hearing how our songwriting and creations have carried you through tough times or brought joyous car [sing-along] sessions into your life has kept us positively chuffed to this day. We can’t wait to celebrate this album with you all in person. It’s going to be an unforgettable ride.”

Waiting For The Day was originally released in November of 1998. It was later certified Platinum by ARIA, as was its lead single: The band’s signature song, ‘Buses And Trains’. The duo of Doko and multi-instrumentalist/songwriter/producer James Roche folded in 2003, but they later reunited in 2011 for a series of shows before getting back together full-time in 2018.

Since their official reunion, the group have released a new single entitled ‘Calling Out Your Name’ and toured nationally in support of former Savage Garden frontman Darren Hayes. Tonight (February 19th), they begin a run of shows opening for Irish folk group The Corrs alongside Gabriella Cilmi.
