Barnaby Joyce Responds To Morrissey’s Letter About Animal Cruelty

Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources Barnaby Joyce has responded to a strongly worded letter sent to him from vegan musician Morrissey’s, dabbling in a bit more celebrity beef.

Joyce has sent out a pair of tweets aimed at the music icon, stating, “Mightn’t be a big fan of The Smiths, but I am a great fan of families in WA, NT & FNQ who rely on our $2bn live export industry.”

Joyce continues, “Record cattle prices for families in regional Australia – sorry I don’t cut it at Splendour in the Grass, but I accept that,” because he’s not a normal Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources, he’s a *cool* Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources.

In his letter to Joyce about live cattle exports, Morrissey stated, “If meat is murder, live export is the slow boat to hell…Please pave the way towards a kinder future by putting the live-export industry out of its misery immediately.”

Here’s hoping Joyce gets his fix of international media embarrassment this time, as clearly the whole Johnny Depp thing wasn’t enough. Catch his responses to Morrissey’s letter, below.
