The organisers of Bassinthegrass Festival made many Northern Territory punters happy earlier today, unveiling the first round of acts set for their 2014 lineup and it looks like it’s going to a be a doozy, with the likes of Karnivool, Vance Joy, Allday, and The Amity Affliction all confirmed.
Bassinthegrass is presented by the Northern Territory Government, in conjunction with the People’s Choice Credit Union, with a view to bringing a safe and friendly festival experience with a major lineup and that is also unique to the Northern Territory, to the grounds of the Darwin Amphitheatre.
The Bassinthegrass festival sets itself apart from other major Australian boutique festivals with souvenir caps instead of a conventional ticketing system, a mandate that free bottled water be provided throughout the day, and a giant screen that ensures all action is visible from the shade.
This year’s lineup delivers some major draws with Perth’s Karnivool leading a roster that also includes Triple J Hottest 100 golden boy Vance Joy, swiftly rising star of the Australian hip-hop scene Allday, and some fearsome metalcore muscle in the form of Queensland’s The Amity Affliction.
There are still more acts to be announced, with the whole show set to get underway on Saturday, 24th May at the Darwin Amphitheatre. Tickets are priced at a very reasonable $70 and go on sale Monday, 14th April. For more information readers can head over to the Bassinthegrass website.
