Beck, Dolly Parton, Eminem Among Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Nominees

17 artists have been nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. They are:

  • Judas Priest
  • Fela Kuti
  • MC5
  • New York Dolls
  • Lionel Richie

  • Rage Against the Machine
  • Carly Simon
  • Dionne Warwick

Artists are eligible for a Rock Hall nomination 25 years after their first record was released. Eminem is nominated in his first year of eligibility. It’s also a first-time nomination for Beck, Duran Duran, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, A Tribe Called Quest and Carly Simon.

Pat Benatar, Eurythmics, Fela Kuti and Dionne Warwick have all been nominated once before. It’s the third crack for Kate Bush, Devo, Judas Priest and the New York Dolls, while Rage Against the Machine have been nominated in each of the last four years. MC5 were first nominated in 2003; this is their sixth nomination in total.

Inductees will be announced in May. Fans can vote for five artists daily until 29th April. Details of the ceremony are to be announced.

Six performers were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2021: Jay-Z, Carole King, Foo Fighters, The Go-Go’s, Todd Rundgren and Tina Turner. Paul McCartney took care of induction duties for the Foo Fighters; Taylor Swift for Carole King; Drew Barrymore for The Go-Go’s; and Dave Chapelle for Jay-Z.
