Beck Might Release Two New Albums In 2013

Beck is in the middle of a creative peak and could drop not just one, but two new albums next year.

The US indie star – who was one of the headline acts for Harvest Festival this yearspoke with NME “there’s music and it’s coming” – in a big way.

Firstly, there’s a record he started in 2008 that “got put to the side” that sounds “sonically adventurous”, and he also has an album he recorded in Nashville last year, which he’s unsure whether he’ll finish off.

“I have this one record I started in 2008,” the singer told NME. “It got put to the side for a long time but recently I’ve been mixing some of the songs. I’m not sure if they’ll be singles or EPs or an album but it’ll come out in some way and it sounds… sonically adventurous.

“I also have a record that I recorded last year in Nashville, which I may or may not finish.”

Beck’s last studio album was 2008’s Modern Guilt. He recently released a 20-track, sheet-music-only album called Song Reader, and also wrote three songs for a Playstation3 game Sound Shapes.
