Global R&B and pop superstar Beyonce has reserved some choice words for Australian songwriter and pop singer in her own right, Sia, who is responsible for penning one of the most talked-about and powerful tracks on her most recent self-titled “visual” album, Pretty Hurts.
“Sia is such a genius. The second I heard the song, I’m like, ‘I have to sing this song, I don’t care how hard I have to fight for this song, this is my song!'” Beyonce told iTunes Radio, which saw Sia tweeting with glee on Monday, “Pretty Hurts? Beyonce? Yep! I wrote it!” adding “I die.”
Speaking on the themes of Pretty Hurts, which deals with the sinister side of the beauty pagent industry, Beyonce said the pagent business is “the most humiliating, judgmental place you can be as a woman,” adding “I wanted to capture how humiliating and insecure that makes you feel.”
