UPDATE: An original version of this story stated that Eilish will be performing ‘No Time To Die’ at the Oscars. This, however, has not been confirmed. We apologise for any confusion.
Original Story:
Billie Eilish is set to take the stage at the upcoming 92nd Academy Awards for what’s billed to be a very “special performance.”
It was recently revealed that Eilish will be the artist behind the yet to be released James Bond theme song ‘No Time To Die’. Written with her older brother FINNEAS, Eilish makes history as the youngest ever artist to write a song for the hugely successful franchise.
Of course, it should be noted that writing a Bond song is pretty much a free ticket to the ‘Best Original Song’ Oscar. The past two Bond songs, Adele’s ‘Skyfall’ and Sam Smith’s ‘Writing On The Wall’, both won Oscars. If Billie were to win, she’d be halfway to an EGOT before aged 20.
If this weekend has shown us anything, Billie Eilish is no stranger to making history. Just this weekend alone, Billie became:
- The youngest artist to ever top the Hottest 100.
- The first female solo artist to ever top the Hottest 100.
- The first ever artist to top the Hottest 100 and 200 in the same year.
- The youngest artist ever to sweep the four major Grammy categories, and the first to do since 1981.
The 92nd Academy Awards will take place on Monday, 10th February at midday AEDT.
