The Black Eyes Peas will live to phunk with our hearts another day, with the group set to reunite for a brand new album.
That’s according to rapper Will.i.am, who says the reunion will take place “shortly”, although he hasn’t specified when, or whether all the original members will be involved.
The Fergie-fronted group have been on hiatus since 2011, following the release of their sixth LP The Beginning, which was a bit of a commercial flop.
But speaking to Capital FM (via NME), will.i.am said: “There will be a Black Eyed Peas reunion. It breaks my heart that I even have to say that because, really, we should just always have been doing Black Eyed Peas, actually.”
Since the Peas left the pod in 2011, will.i.am has been keeping busy with his solo career and gig as a judge on The Voice.
But a new Peas record sounds like good fun. Let’s hope they *get it started* ASAP.
