Black Flag Reformation FLAG Perform ‘My War’ At Their First Show

FLAG, one of the two reformed versions of ’80s hardcore legends Black Flag on the market right now, played their first gig in Redondo Beach, California last month and we’ve got some professionally shot footage of them playing the classic My War.

Unless you’ve been living under some kind of hardcore rock, you probably know by now that FLAG features 4 former Black Flag members: original singer Keith Morris, Chuck Dukowski, Bill Stevenson, Dez Cadena, as well as Stephen Egerton from Descendents and All. The group performing under the original name is the handiwork of original guitarist and mastermind Greg Ginn, alongside early singer Ron Reyes and new members Greg Moore and Dave Klein.

If you’re a Black Flag fan, the only thing better than one reformed version is two versions, right? Wrong, but you’re never, ever gonna see a complete classic lineup, thanks to Ginn pissing off pretty much everyone ever.

We think FLAG is the superior deal of the two offerings – check out their performance at Moose Lodge, the same place Black Flag played their first show in 1979, and make up your own mind. (PS we swear that’s Nick Oliveri of Queens Of The Stone Age fame in the crowd – pick him?)
