Bluesfest Just Announced The First Acts On Its 2018 Lineup

Bluesfest has unveiled the first list of acts secured for its 2018 lineup, topped by Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant and his band The Sensational Space Shifters.

Plant and co. will celebrate the 50 year anniversary of Zeppelin’s first-ever performance by playing a bunch of the band’s hits at Bluesfest 2018, as well as some of Plant’s solo material.

Joining the band on Bluesfest’s first lineup announcement for 2018 are the likes of Lionel Richie, The John Butler Trio, First Aid Kit, Tash Sultana, Chic and The New Power Generation. Catch the full list of acts, below.

“We have lots of Blues in this announcement too, and we are just getting started,” says Bluesfest Director Peter Noble.

Notably, today’s lineup announcement does not include JAY-Z, who was ruled out of the festival by Noble after speculation arose that he could be coming to Australia to headline the festival.

Bluesfest 2018 will take place at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm just outside of Byron Bay over the Easter long weekend, with multiple stages, food and market stalls, on-site camping and 12 hours of music each day.
