Bon Iver have dropped two fresh tracks for us overnight, ‘Hey, Ma’ and ‘U (Man Like)’, their first release in three years. The two new tracks feature contributions from Bruce Hornsby, Moses Sumney, Jenn Wasner, Elsa Jensen, Psymun, Phil Cook, the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, and others.
The new tracks are classic Bon Iver: pleasant and calming audio treats that sound pretty AF and are clearly driven by Justin Vernon’s signature vocals.
“This project began with a single person, but throughout the last 11 years, the identity of Bon Iver has bloomed and can only be defined by the faces in the ever growing family we are,” says JV22 (Justin Vernon we guess).
Bon Iver premiered the two new tracks last night at their All Points East Festival set in London, Pitchfork report that the festival sent out a press release implying these new songs would be appearing on a new Bon Iver album (fingers crossed).
The last Bon Iver album we received was back in 2016, 22, A Million. Since then Justin Vernon (frontman) has collaborated with The National’s Aaron Dessner on Big Red Machine and featured on Eminem’s song ‘The Fall’.
