Book: ‘A Photographic History of the Big Day Out’ In Store Signing On 25th January

Acclaimed Australian rock photographer, Sophie Howarth, who has been the famous lens behind the book titled, Peace Love and Brown Rice: A Photographic History of the Big Day Out.

The very first and only book to be released on the Big Day Out, Howarth’s work is a vibrant and beautiful ride through Australia’s favourite music festival from when it began in 1992. The book is jam packed with not only snaps but stories, anecdotes and collected memorabilia from all the BDO shows, presented in Sophie’s distinctive scrapbook style; a gritty, sweaty, loved-up trip down memory lane of the biggest day out for Australian and international music fans.

On the eve of the BDO Sydney, you can meet the lady behind the lens in a one-off opportunity to chat personally about photographing the Big Day Out. Take the opportunity to have a copy of Sophie’s self-published book on the history of the event through her photos personally inscribed.
