Brand New Confirms Band As “Done” On First Show Of Their Tour

Looks like the writing is indeed on the wall forBrand New after, in Salt Lake City earlier this week, frontman Jesse Lacey, stated: “We’re done. Oh yeah, we’re done, and it makes nights like this all the more special so thanks for being here” just before they played their song Sowing Season.

And this isn’t the first time we have heard utterings of the band’s impending end.

At their final show of 2015, Lacey teared up on stage saying “I wanna tell you right here and now, this isn’t gonna last much longer, but it’s been so special for so long.”

Earlier this month they also released two new T-Shirts with images stating that the band’s existence spans 200-2018, which we can only assume is a prediction that they will finally put the band to rest in 2 years time. Last year, they also released a lyric book to accompany the band’s third album The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me, also stating “RIP 2018”.

Brand New released their latest single I Am A Nightmare just two weeks ago, and they are currently working on their next studio album which will be their first release since Daisy back in 2009. It’s due for release later this year.
