Bright Eyes Are Back With New Single ‘Persona Non Grata’

It’s been nine long years but we finally have new Bright Eyes. ‘Persona Non Grata’ was released overnight and it’s as special as ever.

The new single premiered via Youtube in the early hours of this morning. Bright Eyes have also shared a handwritten note with fans via Instagram, confirming they’ll be sharing a new album with us this year, “no matter what.”

In the note the band begins, “Strange days indeed. Just wanted to send our love and solidarity to everyone out there feeling alone, frightened and isolated.”

“You are not alone. We are all in this together.”

The note also mentions that they currently have tour plans they are reassessing. Their 2020 tour dates were announced in January this year after a message appeared on their website.

“After a 9 year hiatus, Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis and Nathaniel Walcott have re-grouped to record and tour in 2020,” the message read.

The tour has been postponed due to COVID-19. In the note, Bright Eyes say, “We very much want to get on the road and hope to see you all in person sooner rather than later.”

The People’s Key was the last album we received from the emo-folk group back in 2011.

Conor Oberst has released a few albums in the mean time along with an album with his other band Desaparecidos. He’s also formed a new band Better Oblivion Community Center with Phoebe Bridgers.
