In a now-deleted post to Instagram, Britney Spears has addressed THAT dumpster-fire interview conducted by Diane Sawyer with the popstar back in 2003, saying that the interviewer can “kiss my white ass”.
The interview has been likened to that of an interrogation rather than anything positive, with Sawyer pressing Spears on uncomfortable topics like her recent breakup with Justin Timberlake, effectively telling Spears that she believed their breakup to be her fault because she believed Spears to be unfaithful, despite having no evidence to assume so.
Sawyer pressed Spears to breaking point, with the popstar breaking down on camera partway through the interview.
In the Instagram post, Spears says she was forced by her father and her manager at the time to participate in the interview, with the pair sending Sawyer to Spears’ New York home where she was living by herself to conduct the interview.
“I never spoke to anyone for a long time…” Spears wrote.
“I was in shock… pretty lame of my dad and three men to show up at my door when I could hardly speak… two days later they put Diane Sawyer in my living room… they forced me to talk!!!”
