Cate Le Bon Has Announced An Australian Tour For This December

Welsh songwriter Cate Le Bon has announced she’ll tour Australia in December with band in tow, playing songs from her Mercury Prize-shortlisted album Reward, which was released back in May.

Le Bon will perform headline shows in Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Castlemaine and Melbourne at the end of the year, as well as a slot at this year’s Meredith Music Festival.

Le Bon wrote Reward while living a solitary year in the mountainside of the Lake District. By day, she learned how to make solid wood tables, stools and chairs from scratch, and by night, she played piano and sang, conceiving the 10 tracks on the album before they were brought to life with electronics and guitar.

“There’s a strange romanticism to going a little bit crazy and playing the piano to yourself and singing into the night.”
