Chicago’s Twin Peaks Announce Australian 2016 Tour

Garage rock nerds Twin Peaks have announced their first Australian tour, playing three intimate shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in May. The tour will support their upcoming third album, Down In Heaven.

Known for their sophisticated nods to old-school ’60s bands as well as garage punk, Twin Peaks was formed in Chicago in 2009 while the band members were still in high school.

They have been a huge hit on triple j with the rollicking first single from Down In Heaven, Walk To The One You Love.

Down In Heaven was co-produced by the band and R. Andrew Humphrey, and mixed by John Agnello, who has worked with Dinosaur Jr., Kurt Vile, and Sonic Youth.

Twin Peaks’ second album Wild Onion was released in 2014 to widespread thumbs-up. The band has recently played huge festivals in the US and Europe, including Pitchfork, Lollapalooza, Reading & Leeds, and Roskilde.

Pitchfork premiered the lyric video for the band’s new song Butterfly last night. Watch it below.
