Childish Gambino has pulled out of Falls Downtown in Fremantle due to the Golden Globe awards.
Gambino aka. Donald Glover has been nominated for a number of awards for his show Atlanta and as a result he has to cut his Australian visit short to fly to the US for the ceremony.
“He looks forward to making this date up to you all in the near future,” Falls Festival wrote in a statement.
Organisers have assured though that he’ll still be playing in Lorne, Byron Bay and Marion Bay.
There is a silver lining. Fremantle is getting two new acts on the lineup – King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and Allday.
“Due to the proximity to Christmas and the requirements for Visas, getting an international replacement just isn’t possible,” organisers said in a statement.
“We have instead found not one but two of Australia’s hottest acts to step in and save the day and make our Saturday in Freo a night to remember!”
