Childish Gambino Shares New Track ‘Melrose’, ‘Because The Internet’ Album Art

Rapper slash actor slash comedian Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, has revealed another new track online, Melrose, as well revealing the cover artwork for his upcoming album, Because The Internet, the follow-up to 2011’s Camp.

The artwork isn’t anything too exciting – at least at first. What appears to be a mugshot of Glover in tropical pink hues actually reveals itself as a .gif as it jumps out at you. Just give it a few seconds. Why a .gif? Because the internet, we guess.

Melrose is definitely worth four and a half minutes of your time. It’s a laidback, soulful slow-build with no rapping and no traditional song structure to it, revealed via a tweet from the man himself to American singer-songwriter Jhené Aiko. Consider our appetite whetted.

The 30-year-old has been dropping tracks from the upcoming full-length like they’re hot. Which they are. Check out 3005 and Yaphet Kotto (Freestyle) if you don’t want to take our word for it.

Because The Internet is out in Australia 6th December.
