Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker has blessed the sleepy-eyed among us by dropping a ‘Bedtime Mix’ to help us drift off into Zzz-town as we listen to 30 minutes of dreamy tunes by the likes of Frank Ocean, Gotye, King Crimson and Kraftwerk.
Unveiling his mix on BBC Radio 1, Parker told BBC host Phil Taggart that despite not regularly making chilled-out playlists, he very much enjoyed making this one.
“I think I don’t give myself the opportunity enough to zone out with a chilled-out playlist,” Parker said.
“In fact making a chilled-out playlist is not something I do regularly, but having been asked to do it, I’m looking back at the playlist now, and I may actually put this on tonight when I go to bed,” he added, before he and Taggart pressed play on the mix, which can be streamed in full below.
Having toured worldwide this year and still bracing for their forthcoming Aussie tour, the entire Tame Impala crew’s weary eyes are probably in need of a night in with Parker’s ‘Bedtime Mix’, which kicks off with Panda Bear’s I’m Not before taking in tracks from acts like Air and The Flaming Lips.
Taking to Instagram, Parker has said he’s “really proud” of his ‘Bedtime Mix’. “Get this in you if you need some sleeeeep,” he says, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.
Sweet dreams, y’all.
