Aussie rockers Cold Chisel have announced they’re getting their incognito side-project The Barking Spiders back together, for their first public performance in 35 years.
The five-piece band, who have been notoriously secret about their identities despite the fact they look a hell of a lot like Cold Chisel, will perform a one-off show at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre later this month, where they’ll be supported by Sydney three-piece The Dead Love.
While The Barking Spiders haven’t released a studio album, the band were known to play warm-up shows shortly before Cold Chisel tours in the ’80s. In 1984, Cold Chisel also released the live album The Barking Spiders Live: 1983, which isn’t just a coincidence.
Oh, and a ‘barking spider’ is slang for a fart, if you didn’t know…
