Coldplay Announce 2024 Australian Tour

Coldplay just wrapped up a two-night stand at Perth’s Optus Stadium. The double-header was thought to be the extent of the British band’s Music of the Spheres Australian tour. But Coldplay have now announced four Australian stadium shows in October and November 2024, as well as a gig in Auckland.

Chris Martin and his long-time bandmates Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion will be at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne/Naarm on Wednesday, 30th and Thursday, 31st October. They’ll head to Sydney’s Accor Stadium for shows on Wednesday, 6th and Thursday, 7th November. The tour ends at Auckland’s Eden Park on Wednesday, 13th November.

Coldplay to visit Australia’s east coast in spring 2024

Coldplay’s recent shows in Perth – on Saturday, 18th and Sunday, 19th November – were co-presented by the Western Australian Government through Tourism WA. Former Premier Mark McGowan emphasised that the exclusivity was designed to attract tourists to the state.

“It appears to be so popular,” McGowan said after Coldplay’s first show sold out. “I had no idea how popular they were but it turns out it’s going to be great for tourism, great for hospitality, great for people coming into WA which is exactly what we wanted.”

Songs from Coldplay’s 2021 album Music of the Spheres dominated the setlist, alongside many of their biggest hits, such as ‘The Scientist’, ‘Viva La Vida’, ‘Clocks’, ‘Fix You’ and ‘Yellow’. Take a look at the setlists here.
