Crystal Castles’ Ethan Kath Is Now Suing Ex-Bandmate Alice Glass Following Rape Claims

CONTENT WARNING: The following article discusses allegations of rape and sexual assault

The ugly saga embroiling Crystal Castles is continuing to unfold, with Ethan Kath now reportedly suing former bandmate Alice Glass after she accused him of rape and assault.

ICYMI: Glass recently levelled some incredibly disturbing claims against Kath (real name Claudio Palmieri), claiming she suffered “a decade of abuse, manipulation and psychological control” at his hands from the age of 15, during which he allegedly blackmailed her with the threat of being ousted for the electronic outfit if she didn’t have sex with him.

Now, after denying and slamming the allegations as “pure fiction”, Kath has reportedly filed a defamation lawsuit against Glass.

According to TMZ, Kath is accusing Glass fabricating the whole story because she’s “still bitter about their break-up” and reckons she’s also “trying to get attention to jumpstart her new musical venture”.

He appears to be seeking compensation for the damage done to his character as well as the $300K in profits that Crystal Castles lost after having to cancel the rest of their 2017 tour dates in the wake of the scandal.

Kath has since taken to the Crystal Castles’ Facebook page to post a new statement, which essentially paints Glass as a mentally unstable woman with a substance abuse problem:

“Alice and I had a long ongoing relationship both personal and professional. When she suddenly left Crystal Castles to handle her mental health issues and substance abuse issues I fully supported her. I will continue to support her quest to wellness but I can’t support extortion, false claims, and accusations put forth after the band attained new success without her. False allegations take away voices from true victims and that’s what saddens me most about all of this.”

Glass exited Crystal Castles in October of 2014 and was replaced by new vocalist, Edith Frances. She’s since embarked on a solo career, releasing her self-titled debut EP in August of this year.
