Comments from Crystal Castles‘ manager and social media activity from principal member Ethan Kath suggests the band may not be over following the departure of vocalist Alice Glass. Glass announced her egress from the electronic duo earlier this week, writing that it would mean “the end of the band”.

However, despite Glass’ exit over what she referred to as a “multitude” of “professional and personal” reasons in her official statement, the band’s manager says don’t start mourning just yet, recently telling NME, “There will be twists and turns ahead for Crystal Castles, I wouldn’t bury the dead just yet!”

Meanwhile, Kath has indicated that the departure of the band’s infamous frontwoman does not necessarily mean the end of Crystal Castles. After a fan implored the producer to continue making music, saying Glass was just “0.2%” of Crystal Castles, Kath replied, “You got it. Alice just is the face of band.”

Other tweets issued by Kath seem to indicate that Glass did not depart the band on amicable terms, though no details have been given. While the band have been known to “troll” both their fans and the media, Kath tweeted yesterday, “Excuses, excuses, excuses. What a week. Hard times are back.”

Glass announced her departure from Crystal Castles earlier this week, telling fans, “My art and my self-expression in any form has always been an attempt towards sincerity, honesty and empathy for others. For a multitude of reasons both professional and personal, I no longer feel that this is possible within CC.”

Glass, who has been DJing regularly across North America for a number of years now, indicated that she would continue to release music in a solo capacity, writing, “Although this is the end of the band. I hope my fans will embrace me as a solo artist in the same way they have embraced Crystal Castles.”
