Cyndi Lauper has announced her final run of Australian shows, set to take place in April 2025 – nearly exactly 39 years after she first toured the country in support of her multi-platinum 1986 album True Colors. The tour is taking place as part of her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour, which was announced earlier this year as the 71-year-old plots her retirement from the stage. The full run of tour dates, as well as pre-sale and ticketing information, can be accessed below.
Joining the veteran New York pop singer on her farewell run are Australian sibling duo The Veronicas. The tour is set to take place around the time of the 20th anniversary of their debut single, ‘4ever’, which was certified Platinum by ARIA and peaked at number two on the singles charts. In a brief statement announcing their involvement, the Origliasso sisters wrote: “When the queen calls, you answer.” Their most recent album, Gothic Summer, was released in March 2024.
Cyndi Lauper – ‘She Bop’
Lauper was last in Australia in March 2023, serving as the main support for Rod Stewart‘s arena tour. Prior to that, she toured the country in 2017 on a co-headlining tour with Blondie. Overall, this will mark Lauper’s ninth tour of Australia, with a career that has seen her perform at dozens of theatres and arenas across the country – as well as a performance at the 2008 Sydney Mardi Gras.
