Dappled Cities New Album ‘Lake Air’ Out August

Sydney rock-pop band Dappled Cities are all set to release their fourth studio album Lake Air on August 3rd, 2012. So far the indie five-piece have unleashed the striking lead single Run With The Wind, which if anything to go by, means fans are in for a special record.

Although no official tracklist has been revealed, other songs on the record include Love Connection, Work In The Mould, Lake Air, Born At The Right Time and The Leopard.

When speaking about the upcoming record Dappled Cities’ Tim Derricourt said Lake Air encapsulates the entire character of the band.

“It’s everything we’ve ever been… It’s got experimentation, wildness and melody. It gives me the sense that I get every now and again that we could keep doing this for another 20 years – or more,” Derricourt said.

The upcoming LP was recorded over numerous session spanning Sydney, Paris and Los Angeles and marks the first time Dappled Cities have co-produced one of their own record.

Music Feeds’ Therese Watson recently saw Dappled Cities play at the Oxford Arts Factory in Sydney. After witnessing latest single Run With The Wind performed liv, Watson wrote that it may just be the Dappled Cities best song to date.

Run With the Wind is quickly turning into my favourtie song. It was pretty epic. Those gliding scalic synth lines and the soaring melodic falsetto chorus give the song its constant momentum and kept us enthralled.”

“Dappled Cities have impressively managed to continue to sound fresh and current with this track, but have retained their own identifiable sound. Not an easy feat.”
