Dark Mofo Announces 2017 Lineup Featuring Einstürzende Neubauten, Mogwai & More

Tasmania’s annual Dark Mofo festival has lifted the black curtain off its impressive 2017 music lineup, after announcing its first act Ulver back in March.

Headlining the festival this June will be industrial and noise pioneers Einstürzende Neubauten, who’ll perform two shows. Elsewhere, Scottish post-rockers Mogwai will also perform, while A.B. Original will play a show supported by their mate Thelma Plum.

This year’s Dark Mofo will also feature the likes of Xiu Xiu (performing the music of Twin Peaks, set to footage from the series), post-classical pianist Sophie Hutchings and sound artists Alessandro Cortini, Klara Lewis, Grouper and Lawrence English.

Paul Kelly will perform with Irish singer Camille O’Sullivan and pianist Feargal Murray in ‘Ancient Rain’, singing songs inspired by 100 years of Irish letters, including those of Yeats, Heaney and Joyce.

Meanwhile, the multi-band metal festival Hymns To The Dead will feature sets by the the likes of Taake, Anaal Nathrakh, Grave Miasma and Mournful Congregation. View the full lineup, below.

Dark Mofo announced its 2017 dates and a new round of Government funding in July last year.
