Sydney Festival 2013 organisers have announced three initial acts that will perform during next year’s Sydney Festival 2013 activities. The most exciting so far are David Byrne & St. Vincent, who were already announced for Hobart’s MONA FOMA. The two have recently collaborated on a new album titled Love This Giant, co-writing 10 of the tracks and penning one individual track each.
Joining them on this early announcement is Semele Walk, who will add the first taste of fashion to the festivities, displaying billowing gowns, and blending Vivienne Westwood’s outrageous costumes with the magic of Handel at Sydney Town Hall. Contemporary circus act Urban will perform at the Riverside Theatres, showing off the visceral rawness, brazen attitude and high-voltage energy of Circolombia.
Early release tickets to these three shows go on sale 9am Thursday, September 13. The full program announcement will be taking place on 23rd October. Sydney Festival will be taking place between January 5 to January 28 in 2013.
