They’ve featured Pendulum, Katy Perry, Good Charlotte, Birds Of Tokyo, and Kasabian, and now the good folks at Debit MasterCard are bringing Florence + The Machine to Sydney on November 15.
The flaming-haired, caped vixen will bring her huge show and dynamic on-stage presence to The Seymour Centre where, judging by recent Australian appearances, she may just blow the place apart.
The Debit MasterCard shows have been bringing high profile acts to interesting venues, with Birds Of Tokyo playing Cockatoo Island and Kasabian playing at Melbourne’s Docklands recently. The Seymour Centre (near Sydney Uni), which normally hosts revues, musicals, forums and the Sydney Improvised Music Association is certainly an interesting choice for a huge star like Florence.
The cover art and track listing for Florence’s sophomore album Ceremonials was released in September this year, and the record features singles What The Water Gave Me and Shake It Out, which have both been released as videos. Shake It Out feels more Kate Bush than ever, with the video echoing Bush’s Hounds Of Love clip in both style and content, with a bit of Eyes Wide Shut thrown in for good measure.
Florence takes on a sort of Ayn-Rand-esque retro look with her album cover and video imagery, so audiences might look forward to some new stylistic flourishes in her live show.
MasterCard are selling tickets exclusively, so register for a reminder about the event by November 7 to make sure you are one of the first people to hear this much-anticipated album performed live.
