Deer Tick & Two Gallants Announce Australian Tour February 2013

Deer Tick and Two Gallants have announced a co-headlining Australian tour for February 2013. Both hailing from the US, the two indie rock outfits are headed our way, each with a new album under their arm. Dropping into Sydney and Melbourne before making the voyage to WA for the Perth Festival, Deer Tick and Two Gallants are sure to leave with a legion of new fans, given their respective irresistible charming tunes.

Deer Tick humbly began as vocalist John McCauley‘s solo project in 2004. Since that that time, McCauley’s one-man band has swelled in size to help capture the joyful energy of Deer Tick’s alt-country sound. Deer Tick’s latest album is Divine Providence, which has been described as an ‘exuberant romp’ with an anche akin to blues and the grit of pub rock.

Two Gallants released their fourth studio album The Bloom and the Blight in September of this year. With their latest release, the folk rock duo have delivered a bruising barrage of drums and guitars that captures the raw qualities of the grunge band’s that inspired Two Gallants in their formative years.

“Our past albums have been a lot more folk and blues-based, and I tried to move away from that to some extent,” Adam Stephens of Two Gallants explains, “I wanted to find a rawness in the music and take us back where we’d come from, from punk rock and grunge in particular, to our childhood, in some ways.”

Whether you’re a fan or ready to discover some new music, make sure you get along to this rare international double-billing.
