Dirty Honey Announce 2024 Bluesfest Sideshows

American rock band Dirty Honey have announced two headlining shows in Sydney and Melbourne, set to take place next month in April 2024 while the band are in Australia performing at Byron Bay Bluesfest. The band will play their first-ever headlining Australian show at Crowbar in Sydney on Wednesday April 3rd, followed by Stay Gold in Melbourne the next day on Thursday April 4th.

The Black Cardinals will serve as the support for the band’s Sydney show, while Dead City Ruins will join the band on their Melbourne date. Tickets for both shows are on sale now via Oztix. In a press statement, the band expressed their excitement at being able to perform in a country with particular significance to them. “We made this record in Australia, and we can’t wait to play our first headline shows down under,” they said.

Although the band was formed and is based in Los Angeles, they recorded their self-titled debut EP in Australia with producer Nick DiDia in his Byron Bay studio. The band had planned to return there to record their debut album in March 2020; this plan was ultimately nixed, however, on account of the then-emerging COVID-19 pandemic. Dirty Honey ultimately reunited with DiDia to record their second studio album, Can’t Find the Brakes, which was released in 2023.

Dirty Honey were added to the Bluesfest line-up for 2024 back in January, along with Ben Harper, Infectious Grooves, The Waifs and Katie Melua. Both Infectious Grooves and Melua have since announced their own headlining shows. Jimmy Barnes is also set to make his comeback at the festival, following his recent successful heart surgery.
