PJ Morton – ‘The Sweetest Thing’

Morton’s latest studio album, Watch the Sun, came out in April 2022. The album features guest appearances from Chronixx, Stevie Wonder, Nas, Jill Scott, Wale, and others. A live representation of the record, Watch the Sun Live: The Mansion Sessions, was released in August 2023. Earlier in the year, Morton released a cover of Lauryn Hill’s ‘The Sweetest Thing’, which originally appeared on the soundtrack to the 1997 film Love Jones.

The Allman Betts Band is led by Devon Allman and Duane Betts, who’re the sons of Allman Brothers Band founders Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts respectively. The current lineup also includes Ally Venable and Larry McCray. They’ll be presenting a show titled Allman Betts Family Revival, with special guests to be announced.

Bluesfest 2024 is happening from Thursday, 28th March to Monday, 1st April at Byron Events Farm in Tyagarah, New South Wales. The lineup features Jack Johnson, Tom Jones, Rickie Lee Jones and more. Jones is the first female performer listed in the festival’s official artwork – she appears in eighteenth place on the list. Other female artists on the lineup include Meshell Ndegeocello, Fiona Boyes & the Fortune Tellers, Hussy Hicks and Little Quirks.
