DJ Koze To Headline Abercrombie ‘Last Night Ever’

Sydney’s Abercrombie Hotel, known for hosting Purple Sneakers‘ club nights and serving as the longtime home of Sunday party S.A.S.H, and which last month announced that it would be shutting its doors for good, have announced a ‘Last Night Ever’ to be headlined by Germany’s DJ Koze.

German techno master Koze has been in town to play the sophomore instalment of Let Them Eat Cake festival, alongside James Holden and Cyril Hahn. Once one of the stars of Germany’s iconic Kompakt label, Koze has released some of the world’s most unique and banging electronic music.

As Music Feeds reported last month, the closing of the Abercrombie comes amidst the continued gentrification of the old Carlton United Brewery site, which has seen commercial and residential developments consistently threaten the existence of establishments like The Abercrombie.

“We’re shutting down due to the development going ahead around Central Park,” the venue’s manager explained in an interview with Pulse Radio, as reported at the time by inthemix. He added, “They’re going to be building a big commercial shopping mall around and above us.”

The venue announced a series of S.A.S.H events as its final activities before closing, including a Christmas party and an Abercrombie Closing Party set for Sunday, 5th January. The venue’s ‘Last Night Ever’ will kick off Thursday, 9th January, with tickets priced at $25. See below for details.
