DMA’s Share The First Music Video They Ever Shot, Which Cost $20

Believe it or not, but DMA’s were once just like any other up-and-coming band out there, and now they’ve just released the first ever music video they ever shot to prove it.

Last night, DMA’s were kind enough to share the lo-fi video for Play It Out, which also happens to be the first song they ever recorded as a group.

Yes, these days they perform massive sold-out gigs, festivals and have even done their thing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, but these boys weren’t born with a silver spoon hanging outta their mouths. The Play It Out video (below) is the cold hard proof, and was made with just a $20 budget on what appears to be a hand-held camera.

The boys took to their Facebook page to share the video, saying:

“This was the first song we ever recorded as a band. And the first clip

we made before we had played any shows or signed any deals. Thanks to Mitch Grant who made this clip on a 20 buck budget. We have been looking forward to sharing this with you for a long time – enjoy x”

These fellas sure have come a long way since then, with one standout moment being their stunning recent performance on triple j‘s Like A Version with their take on Cher’s Believe.

You can catch DMA’s at Falls Festival 2016/17, 2017 Australian Open, and Mountain Sounds Festival 2017.
