Download Festival Australia 2019 Lineup Adds Pennywise, Sum 41 & More

Written by Emmy Mack on November 14, 2018

Australia’s monster Download Festival 2019 lineup just got even more monstrous, with the addition of a fistful of new acts.

After Sydney riff crushers Polaris were recently added to the fold, today’s announcement features a 50:50 split of international and local bands, including the likes of SoCal punk legends Pennywise and Canadian pop punk legends Sum 41 (both in Download-exclusive performances), plus UK rockers Slaves (that’s the good Slaves, not the other Slaves).

On the homegrown front there’s extreme metallers Thy Art Is Murder, fusion lords Twelve Foot Ninja and progsters Voyager.

They’ll perform alongside previously announced acts like Ozzy Osbourne, Slayer, Judas Priest, Alice In Chains, Ghost, Rise Against, The Amity Affliction, Anthrax and more at next year’s fest, and a few more bands are still expected to be announced.

Download Festival 2018 was the first on Aussie shores and had one date in Melbourne. Organisers have expanded the festival for 2019, taking it to Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse and Sydney’s Parramatta Park in March.

Peep the full lineup for next year’s festival in all of its glory, below.
