Ed Sheeran To Perform At The 2015 ARIA Awards

Ed Sheeran has just been announced a special guest performer at this year’s ARIA Awards, the British singer joining an already packed line up of local talent such as Vance Joy, Flight Facilities and more.

Nominated in the best international artist category, Sheeran has also made short statement via video to let us know how excited he is about performing, saying, “I’ll see you at the ARIAs, I’ve never been to the ARIAs, I’ve wanted to go every single year, so this is quite exciting.” And despite him lying through his teeth about being excited to attend, his fans surely are, with Sheeran taking out the title of highest selling artist in Australia the last two years running.

Joining Vance Joy, Flight Facilities, Hermitude, Conrad Sewell and of course Tina Arena (who is finally being inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame), Sheeran is also touring the country in November and December. The first solo artist to conduct a stadium tour in Australia and New Zealand performing entirely solo, he should be in great shape for the awards show when it rolls round on the 26th of November.

Having already taken out the Brit Award for Album of the year, and being nominated for this year’s Grammy for album of the year, it’s already been a very big awards year for the multi-platinum plaid loving artist. And considering they’ve got him on to perform and his album has been selling so well, he looks a shoe in to take out best international artist ARIA this year.

Stay tuned for more ARIA news, but in the meantime you can check out Sheeran’s video message here.
