Eminem’s 2011 Australian ‘Lose Yourself’ tour kicked off in Melbourne last night at Etihad Stadium and the crowd were not left disappointed, including Dave Grohl who hung on every word. It was his first Australian show in over 10 years; a message beamed across the big screen announcing that Eminem had gone through fame, retirement and rehab, ‘You’re all here to witness Eminem’s recovery’ it read. Eminem told the crowd ‘This time I’m going to remember this shit’.
The iconic rap legend then delivered 100 minutes of Rap history. Eminem mixed his new tracks with the old: Spacebound; Not Afraid; Cleaning Out My Closet; Toy Soldiers; and The Way I Am all made it on the setlist, along with an awesome medley of his biggest hits: The Real Slim Shady; My Name Is; and Without Me. He also performed Lose Yourself from the 8 mile sound track and one of the first ever Eminem songs we heard on triple j, Stan.
The Eminem tour heads to Sydney Football Stadium tonight; there are still cheap tickets available for the second Sydney show on December 4th.
