EXCLUSIVE: Tuka Shares ‘Down For Whatever’ Off Upcoming New Album

Excitement for Sydney MC Tuka’s new album Life Death Time Eternal continues to build, and ahead of its release tomorrow, Music Feeds is thrilled to premiere an exclusive track off the album, right here!

Talking to us recently, Tuka outlined how the new album explores several divergent sounds which Tuka puts down to not “really being concerned with genre and I wanted to get that across. I love hip-hop, it’s always gonna be in me, but in the genre of hip-hop, you can really stretch it and there’s a lot of rules you can break.”

Album track Down For Whatever shows that genre-defying slant, with an almost orchestral soundscape behind some tight percussion and Tuka’s effortless rhymes. Tuka tells us:

“This was the first song I finished. Fresh off the back releasing Thunda’s last album. I got the beat off Poncho and it originally had ’80s guitar all over it. All my life I’d hated 80s guitar but then I watched that cheesy TV biopic on INXS and suddenly I wrote like 3 songs with chessy 80’s guitar in them. I’ve got the bug now, weird.”

Life Death Time Eternal is out tomorrow, Friday July 10, you can pre-order it here.
