Faithless Announce Split

One of the world’s most durable and popular electro/dance acts have announced that they are no more, with the UK’s Faithless drawing the curtain down on their long career.

An announcement on the band’s website by Maxi Jazz confirmed the news, saying, “After 15 years(!) and six albums(!!) I think we’ve probably made our collective point by now and that it’s time to close the book and return to the library…”

He added, “We’ve had, with you, the most unbelievable, epic and moving experience, stretching over years and tens of thousands of miles… joyful, exhilarating and empowering, we never for a moment thought an affair could last this long. Or be this powerful. Never thought for a moment that the end of this journey would be left to us either…”

He went on to express his love for Faithless’ legions of fans worldwide. Their last studio album was The Dance, released in May 2010 on their own label Nates Tunes to fairly mixed reviews. The band are currently in the middle of a European tour that ends with two shows at London’s Brixton Academy on April 7-8. Faithless were in Australia as recently as the Good Vibrations festival in February for their last shows down under.
